Yigit Anil — Shipping & Chartering

Shipping & Chartering Student

Studying freight markets and chartering at HSB Hochschule Bremen. Outside coursework I build Python tools — applying the same quantitative reasoning used in freight analytics to live market data.

About

Shipping & Chartering.

I am interested in how data, market signals, and external information can support decision-making in shipping and logistics environments.

Instead of only studying theory, I try to build small systems to understand how real-world signals translate into actionable insights.

Selected work

Polymarket Signal Engine

Surfaces mispriced binary prediction markets by scoring live data across four independent signals.

  • Pulls real-time prices, volume, and close dates from the Polymarket API
  • Scores each market on volume trend, price drift, time decay, and spread width
  • Outputs a ranked list with position sizes calculated via Kelly criterion
→ Shows how structured signal analysis can surface decisions that raw data alone doesn't make obvious.

Multi-Signal Trading Monitor

Identifies technical alignment across multiple assets before triggering any action — built to study how indicators behave together, not in isolation.

  • Tracks hourly candlestick data for three crypto pairs via Binance Testnet API
  • Requires RSI, Bollinger Bands, MACD, and volume to align before signalling
  • Logs each decision with entry price, signal reason, and running outcome
→ The insight was about convergence: single indicators are noise. Agreement between them is signal.

Focus

What I think about

Shipping & Chartering

Freight markets, voyage economics, chartering structures, and how cargo moves through global supply chains.

Market-Driven Decision Making

How external signals — price movements, volume changes, timing — can inform better decisions under uncertainty.

Data & Signal Analysis

Building small systems that turn raw data into structured output. Less about automation, more about understanding what the numbers are saying.
